It’s a tragedy how many people don’t know the proper etiquette of forums. These people need to be taught the ways of the internet, so here’s a start;

1) You don’t know everything. Chances are, there are people on your forum that are probably ten times smarter than you are. Accept this graciously and move on.

2) If you don’t like the responses you get from a post, LEAVE THE THREAD. It’s not that hard to go to the address bar and type in “www.{INSERT DIFFERENT WEBSITE HERE}.com”. You want a suggestion? www.stumbleupon.org. It’s a much better use of your time.

3) Don’t talk like you’re texting your little middle-school friends. Phrases like “omg u gyz r so mean 2 me!” are likely going to get you flamed even more. Knock it off and act like you’re old enough to actually be online.

4) Yes, you have a right to state your opinion, but so do others. Just because they disagree with you doesn’t mean you should go to the moderators (whom are already busy enough with other assholes like you) and bitch and moan.

5) DO NOT TALK LIKE THIS. It’s annoying, and on the contrary to popular belief, it is NOT cruise control for awesome.

6) Remember: Fighting on the internet is like the Special Olympics. Even if you win you’re still retarded.

Hopefully with these few tips, forum newbies can navigate and participate in threads more intelligently. Pass it on, and help these unfortunate souls.
